Lairik Technologies ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use LAIRIK, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. This policy applies to all users of lairik.in and the LAIRIK application. It complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 of India.
No Sale
Your personal information is never sold to advertisers or third parties.
Education
Data is used solely to power your tutoring experience on LAIRIK.
Minor-Safe
We take extra precautions for users under 18, our primary audience.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
a) Account Information
- Google Sign-In: Name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
- Phone Sign-In: Mobile phone number, used for OTP verification.
- This information is provided by you at the time of account creation and is stored in Firebase Authentication (Google).
b) Chat and Usage Data
- The questions you ask and the AI responses you receive are saved in Firebase Firestore to enable chat history and continuity.
- The number of questions asked (for free trial tracking) and subscription status.
- The subjects you study (Mathematics, Science, Social Science, English).
c) Payment Information
- Payment processing is handled by our payment partner (Razorpay). We do not store your credit card, debit card, or UPI details on our servers.
- We receive a payment confirmation, subscription status, and transaction reference from our payment partner.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Account management: Creating and maintaining your LAIRIK account and authenticating your identity.
- Tutoring service: Generating AI responses to your questions using your chat history as context for accurate, personalised tutoring.
- Free trial management: Tracking the number of questions used in your free trial period.
- Subscription management: Processing payments and managing your subscription status.
- Service improvement: Analysing usage patterns to improve the quality, accuracy, and performance of LAIRIK.
- Communications: Sending service-related notifications such as subscription confirmations or important policy updates.
- Safety and security: Detecting and preventing fraudulent account creation and abuse of our free trial.
3. AI Processing
Important: When you send a question to LAIRIK, your message is transmitted to an AI API for processing. Your data is handled in accordance with strict educational privacy guidelines.
- We send your question and recent chat history (up to 10 messages) to generate a tutoring response.
- We do not intentionally send sensitive personal information such as your full name, phone number, or address to the AI models. Do not include such information in your chat messages.
- AI responses are generated automatically. We do not manually read individual student conversations during normal operation.
4. Protection of Minors
Our primary users are students aged 14-16. We take the privacy of minors very seriously.
- We do not knowingly collect unnecessary personal information from users under 18 beyond what is required for account creation and service delivery.
- We do not display personalised advertising to any users, including minors.
- We do not share minor users' data with third parties for commercial purposes.
- Parents and guardians may contact us at support@lairik.in to request deletion of their child's account.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
- Chat history: Retained for 12 months to enable chat continuity. You may request deletion at any time.
- Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations.
